Wake Forest Demon Deacons – (ACC) Atlantic Coast Conference
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons play in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The program began in 1888 and enjoyed early success. Wake Forest struggled in football for much of the second half of the 20th century but despite being the 6th smallest school in FBS in terms of undergraduate enrollment the Demon Deacons are competitive. They have appeared in 11 Bowl games and won the ACC in 2006. Main rivals include NC State, Duke and North Carolina.
Wake Forest plays its home football games at BB&T Field at Groves Stadium in Winston Salem, NC. The stadium only seats 31,500 making it the smallest stadium in the ACC. The smallness insures for a cozy viewing environment to watch big time college football. This is a great place to watch a game whether your viewing from the suites and club seats of the Deacon Tower of from the sidelines. The band is great, the fans are friendly and everything about the game day experience s first class.
