Vanderbilt Commodores – (SEC) Southeastern Conference
The Vanderbilt Commodores football team plays in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the East Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Playing in the nation’s strongest conference Vandy as they are known, has competed despite having the smallest enrollment in the SEC at a little over 12,000 students. In their history, they have won almost 600 games and have a 4-3-1 record in bowl games. The Commodores have produced 41 All Americans. Chief rivals include Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss.
Vanderbilt plays their home games at Vanderbilt Stadium on Dudley Field, located on the university’s beautiful Nashville, Tennessee campus. The stadium seats 40,550 in a 1 level horseshoe design. It is by far the smallest stadium in the SEC. Luxury seating is in the North End Zone. All seats are considered great with a close to the playing field experience enjoyed by all. There is a definite Naval vibe in design and with the tradition of a super loud foghorn blowing after every Vandy score and with the Nchors Down hand signs and cheers.
