Toronto Blue Jays – American League East
The Toronto Blue Jays play Major League Baseball (MLB) in the American League East Division. They are currently the only Canadian MLB team. They began play in 1978. In 1983 they had their first winning season and until 1993 they were very successful winning 5 division championships in 9 years and 2 back to back World Series in 1992 and 1993. They then went 21 years before winning the division again in 2015. They are one of only 2 teams that are owned by a corporation, Rogers Communications.
The team plays its home games at the Rogers Centre (formerly known as the SkyDome). The ballpark was ahead if its times when it opened in 1989 with a retractable roof and it has a 348 -room hotel attached to it with 70 rooms overlooking the filed. The Executive Boutiques are the top of the line with the large Acura luxury suites providing premium seating along the the 300 and 400 levels. For up front and close viewing the 100 level practically encircles the field and the 200 levels allow for some additional perspective at an affordable seating price.
