Tennessee Volunteers – (SEC) Southeastern Conference
The Tennessee Volunteers aka “the Vols” football team plays in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Having played their first season in 1891, the Vols have won over 800 games ranking them 10th on the NCAA list making them one of the most successful programs in the country. They have appeared in 52 bowl games winning 28, including 4 Sugar Bowls and 3 Cotton Bowls. Amazingly only Tennessee and The Ohio State University are the only 2 programs left in the country to never have a season of more than 7 losses. They have won 13 conference championships and six national titles in their history and their last national championship was in the 1998 college football season. They have produced a staggering 350 plus draftees to the NFL. This is truly great program.
The Vols play at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN, where Tennessee has an all-time winning record of 464 games, the highest home-field total in college football history for any school in the nation at its present location. The 102,455-seat capacity makes Neyland the nation’s 5th largest stadium. The game day experience at this large stadium is awesome capped off by the Vol Walk when the players enter the playing field to the song Rocky Top which makes the fans go bonkers. Alabama, the U of Fla and Vanderbilt are the team’s main rivalries Like all SEC games tickets are hard to get so buy early. Premium seats are in the Tennessee Terrace, East Club seats, West Club seats.
