TCU Horned Frogs

The Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs play in the Football Bowl Division Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the Big 12 Conference.  A member of the Big 12 Conference since 2012, the Horned Frogs are a tough matchup for any school. TCU ranks as the 28th best college football program of all time and the 4th best private college football school of all time, behind Notre Dame, USC, and Miami-FL. The Horned Frogs are also one of only four FBS teams to have played in all six College Football Playoff Bowls, winning all but the Fiesta and Orange.  In 2017, TCU and Coach Patterson reached their 10th 11win season since Gary Patterson has been coaching for the program. Petersons record is 160-57. Overall the school sports a 643-541-57 record with 16 bowls against 16 losses and a tie. They have won 18 league titles a tremendous accomplishment for a private school of only 8500.

Amon G. Carter Stadium is on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. It is named after Amon G. Carter, a prominent Fort Worth businessman. It opened in 1930 and is now the official home of The Armed Forces Bowl. It has several popular nicknames, the most popular being “The Carter” and “Hell’s Half Acre” which is a reference to how difficult it is for visiting teams to win here as well as it is close to the site of Fort Worth’s crazy wild west past. The stadium seats only 45,000 fans which makes it quite cozy and allows for great viewing. Premium seating and more suites are planned for 2019. While the food in the stadium is very good, Texas style tailgating abounds, and the party like at most Big 12 campuses starts early. The best time may be at what’s knowns as Frog Alley where live music and merry making is takin to a higher level.
