North Carolina Tar Heels – (ACC) Atlantic Coast Conference

The North Carolina Tar Heels play in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Since joining the Atlantic Coast Conference in 1953, the team has won five conference championships, with the most recent title coming in 1980. North Carolina has played in 31 bowl games in its history and won 5 ACC titles. The Tar Heel have had 38 All Americans players and 174 first-team All-ACC choices. They have also produced scores of NFL players. The first forward pass in football is attributed to the Tar Heels in 1895. While being overshadowed by the mighty basketball program the Tar Heels are always a highly competitive football program. Chief rivalries are with the NC State Wolfpack, Virginia and South Carolina.

Tar Heels games are played at Kenan Stadium on the Chapel Hill campus. The stadium seats 63,000 in a bowl shape offering great site lines from any section. Premium seating is in the Blue Zone which takes up all the East Side end-zone section and includes the Mezzanine boxe’s Get up close and have more fun in the Field Terrace seats or opt for Zone 1 and Zone 2 for nice sideline seats. One of the more scenic campuses in the nation a fine tailgate prior to kickoff is a not to miss treat.
