North Carolina State Wolfpack – (ACC) Atlantic Coast Conference
The NC State Wolfpack competes in the Football Bowl subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Prior to joining the ACC in 1953, the Wolfpack were a member of the Southern Conference. As a member of the ACC, the Wolfpack has won seven conference championships and played in 30 bowl games winning 16, including seven of their last ten. This fine good program has produced many All Americans and NFL players. Top rivalries are with the North Carolina Tarheels, Wake Forest and Duke.
The Wolfpack play its home games at Carter-Finley Stadium built in 1966. The stadium holds 55,571. The Vaughn Towers house the over 50 suites and the Club seats. The stadium basically has metal benches but since the fans are loud and into the games you will be standing with them most of the time. It’s a great college atmosphere with a top notch marching band, great pre game tailgating and plenty to do around the area for after. Though the ACC plays second fiddle to the SEC and this is a basketball hotbed a Wolfpack game is as good as it gets.
