Missouri Tigers – (SEC) Southeastern Conference
The University of Missouri Tigers aka the “Mizzou Tigers” football team plays in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Missouri’s football program started in 1890 however they joined the SEC in 2012. The program has appeared in 31 bowl games including 10 major bowl appearances: 4 Orange Bowls, 3 Cotton Bowls, 2 Sugar Bowls, and 1 Fiesta Bowl. Missouri has won 15 conference titles, 5 division titles, and 2 national championship selections recognized by the NCAA. Missouri’s all-time win record is approaching 700 games.
Home games are played at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium in Columbia, MO. Because the fans are so rabid it is nicknamed “The Zou”. In 1972 the school named the field in honor of longtime coach Don Faurot. Seating capacity is 71,168 making it one of the larger stadiums. It’s a horseshoe stadium with a large berm called the Hill that has an M engraved in stone in the center. There are premium seats known as Tower seats in The Columns Club East side and on the West side. The Premium Loge boxes are top of the line. However, all seats in this huge stadium put you right into the action with great sight lines and a you are sure to enjoy a wonderful college game day atmosphere.
