Miami Hurricanes – (ACC) Atlantic Coast Conference
The Miami Hurricanes play in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Since the program began in 1926 the team has won 5 AP national championships (1983, 1987, 1989, 1991 and 2001.) Miami ranks 4th all-time tied with USC and Ohio State and behind Alabama, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma with championships making for a very strong resume. With total wins over they have also appeared in 38 bowl games winning 19. The University of Miami holds a number of NFL Draft records, including most first round selections in a single draft and most consecutive drafts with at least one first round selection. Main rivals are Florida State, Florida and Notre Dame.
The team plays its home games at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. It’s also the home of the Dolphins and seats 65,326. It’s not really near the school but UM is the college team in S FLA so they draw from all over. The stadium was recently upgraded to provide a better game day experience with shade awnings installed, a better sound system and better scoreboards too. There are numerous suits and club options and with the Miami heat and humidity much like Texas, LSU and other southern stadiums that may be a wise choice. Great tailgates, fanatical fans but not known for sellouts so while you can probably score tickets to any of the home games you will want to upgrade to better lowers to really enjoy your time.
