The LSU Tigers football team plays in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). As of the end of the 2016 season, LSU has compiled 772 victories, the 16th most in NCAA Division I FBS history, and the fourth most of any SEC team, behind Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia. The Tigers also have the 11th highest winning percentage among teams with at least 1,000 games played. LSU has won three National Championships: in 1958, 2003 and 2007. LSU has had a high number of players drafted into the National Football League (NFL). As of the beginning of the 2016 NFL season, there were 42 former LSU players on active rosters in the NFL, the most of any college program.
LSU Tigers games are played at Tiger Stadium aka “Death Valley” It opened in 1924 and currently holds 102,321. It’s the 6th largest on campus stadium in the country. Most all games are played at night. The Tigers are hard to beat at home winning the last 57 out of 64 as of the 2016 season. The best seats in the house are the Tiger Den Suites and the West Stadium Club seats. The Tiger Terrace and the Upper and lower club seats are great as well. The atmosphere game day includes great pre game parties and the fans are amongst the most loyal and rabid in sports.
