Atlanta Falcons – NFC South
The Atlanta Falcons play in the National Football League (NFL) in the National Football Conference (NFC) South division. The Falcons joined the NFL in 1965 as an expansion team, The Falcons won division championships in 1980, 1998, 2004, 2010, 2012, and 2016. They appeared in two Super Bowls, losing to to the Denver Broncos in 1998 and the second being a 34–28 overtime defeat by the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI in 2016 season.
The Falcons played their home games at the Georgia Dome in downtown Atlanta from the 1992 to 2016 NFL seasons. Construction began on Mercedes-Benz Stadium in May 2014. Play is projected to begin there during the 2017 season.
