Boston College Eagles – (ACC) Atlantic Coast Conference
The Boston College Eagles play in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). They began play in 1892 and have been New England’s only DI-A program until UCONN began play in 2000. The program has won well over 600 games and is always competitive in the tough ACC. The school has an exceptionally high graduation rate and has produced many All Americans and Professional players over the years, Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie probably the most well-known. Rivalries are with UMASS, Notre Dame and Syracuse.
The Eagles play in Alumni Stadium which was built in 1957 and holds 44,500 fans. It’s located on the beautiful campus just west of Boston. The crisp fall air and big time college football in New England make for a comfortable and fun time. There are luxury seats in the DBS sections but mostly bench seats with generally nice site lines. It’s a nice stadium. Enjoy the benefits of the world class city of Boston before and after games.
